Bonjourno!
Then the 4 big cruise ships came and circled through the u turn corner to go further down to dock somewhere along the main canal and dump a bunch of tourists off for the day. Imagine the flooding the narrow streets with more tourists. Am I becoming too possessive of large space or what?
We went this morning on a tour to a Murano glass factory. The master glass maker was amazing, as he should be. Of course there were 5 rooms of glass masterpieces from Magnifico to purchasable jewelry.
Our tour guide was wonderful in pointing out in each area the cons to avoid and the shops where she had established rapport with the owners and knew from repeated trips they were on the up and up and their prices were true to the quality of the product.
After the tour, we came back to the room to regroup and then left to see the Moses Church. In the center of the main altar was a huge artwork of Moses receiving the Ten Commandments. Very odd indeed. Our guide this morning said they. Fought Moses relics here u dear slabs of pork chops because the people found pork offense so they knew they could smuggle in the artifacts. I am sure there is more to it than I can remember.
Onto the Museo corner and the Museo Archeologico for a great walk around of ancient stuff.... Coins of Caesar .... Statues , original books from 1491 and many many things. The rain shower was over by the time we finished so we headed over several others bridges to find a candy store and get a sandwich and a coke to share. Their sandwiches are big enough.
Returned at hotel in interlude now so can finalize some paperwork and check flight schedules( which our guide says she does constantly ) .. We are going for a Gondola ride at 6 and a dinner reception at 7 with dinner at 7:30. We will get our group pictures and say our farewells. Will update after these events.
