Under the Tuscan Sun- San Gimignano & Viareggio

Day 8 - Under  the Tuscan Sun- San Gimignano & Viareggio

Today was a beautiful drive to the Tuscany. The valley views were so tremendous almost like the parts of the view closest to you were real and the backdrop to the view looked surreal because of the depth of the valley. I hope the pics show it but......

We had a short tour of the town and the up and down roads that you walk through the town AND the cars drive through. It's crazy!!!!!!!!!     You cannot possibly hit and run.

We ate in a restaurant that had a beautiful view  and after that shopped at some select stores that our  tour guide swore on her life were great and would give us a discount. One was a leather store and a gelato store to which she treated us.

We left as the Tuscan sun got hidden by the rain clouds. It rained for a very short time and we had a two hour ride ahead of us. We needed a bus nap. The. We took a turn off at Pisa. Yes, we saw the leaning tower from afar as going directly to the site would be too time consuming. So rather than avoid it all we took some roadside shots.

We proceeded to Viareggio to our "pretty close to a beach front hotel " the Principe Di Piemonte. Style, class and a beach stop..... My language. Do you believe they have the same great clam shells but larger on this beach. I collected a few so I could "create" something when I get home........  After I sleep for a couple days.

We had another killer dinner. Each of the last hotels has had a scale. I like them both as they only go up to 120. Am I missing something? Ha ha

Well, we are crossing our fingers as the weather report is indicating 50 percent chance of rain. That is bad because the boat trip would be cancelled. But our great tour guide has plan b and c on tap. She is unbelievable.

So I will let you know how tomorrow went tomorrow!
